So What Can I Do?

Universal Design has a set of 7 basic principles to follow.  These principles have since been adapted for universal design of learning.  You can download a summary PDF document with both set of principles to retain.  We’ll cover the principles for learning here briefly as well.

The 7 principles for universal design of learning that are generally accepted and discussed are:

  1. Inclusiveness
  2. Physical Access
  3. Delivery Methods
  4. Information Access
  5. Interaction
  6. Feedback
  7. Demonstration of Knowledge

Select each principal above to learn more.  By applying these basic principles, you can design your materials and curriculum, environment, and educational system to support learning by all, rather than limiting individuals unnecessarily.
