Presuming Competence By Design • A Tutorial for Systems, Environment, Curricular, and Materials Design in Learning Systems

Requirements

You Do It!

First, let’s rework the second example.

Original:

“Our sales staff isn’t selling as many online subscriptions as we asked them to, so I’m going to get some more training for them on that service.”

Provide a good UDL objective to finish this statement:

“Our sales staff isn’t selling as many online subscriptions as we asked them to, so ___________” (want some ideas?)

Now our supervisor should start asking the question “what’s the barrier” … but that’s a different module.  If you’re not sure what other possibilities there could be, go to the section on Barriers in the Learning Environment.  Those same barriers apply in workplace settings, too.
